+1. Parents are so in denial about their kid's IQ. Sorry, *every* kid isn't gifted. Stop using phony inflated grades as proof they must be gifted or their must be an ailment they need extra time. No, they're just average & teachers/schools are bamboozling you with bullsh*t grades and watered down lesson plans.

Are their grades inflated? I don't mean this to be snarky. I teach middle school. I find that lower grade teachers tend to inflate or give feel good grades. As a teacher, I find kids generally score around their true ability. There are exceptions of course.

I've found that often students with ADD or ADHD bomb assessments that are timed. This is especially true if they are not on medication. They understand the concepts and they do well if time is not a factor. However, I think the timed test factor can stress a lot of students out.

I was sort of like this (although I didn't bomb). I took the SAT and LSAT twice, and had a big jump the second time.

Some people just aren't good at standardized tests but do well otherwise. Not the end of the world.
