The first couple weeks are awful - going off carbs makes you feel like you have the flu or a hangover.
If I had a keto / low carb chef, I would do it full time. instead I do 4-6 weeks of it then go back to regular eating until I feel fat and lethargic again and then I threepeat!
Interesting. This is what I have heard. Does the weight come back as quickly as some people say?
I am 42. The weight comes off quickly and comes back on even quicker. I lose / gain 10 lbs by starting / stopping keto / low carb.
I lost 20 quickly and then gained 25 even faster. NP here.

I started to do the diet today sans animal protein and I feel really yucky. I do eat chicken and some meat, but not every day. Do you have to have these proteins every day? Today I had eggs, parmesan cheese and whole fat greek yogurt as my proteins. Oh and some almond butter. But is this enough? I had no carbs. Lots of veggies-- and now I feel bloated... May I ask: Why do you weigh out salt? Also do you take magnesium in pill form? Thanks... Just want to try this. I have celiac disease and don't have a lot of typical carbs, but I do eat a lot of fruit, rice cakes, tortillas, brown rice and sweet potatoes, so I guess those are all carbs. The only time I have EVER lost weight is when I have cut out sugar.... as I am getting closer to 50 and menapause, I want to start to watch what I eat more, but I don't know if this kind of diet is sustainable, particularly as someone who is not that crazy about animal meat (but I eat it along with fish). Thx for any ideas. Want to detox from all the sugar and alcohol from the holidays
Read Why've awe Get Fat And What ago Do About It by Gary Taubes. So much good info about how menopause impacts fat storage and what you can do. Fasting and keto or LCHF are the answer!
