They have to be in the bedroom by a certain time - usually 1am

I will enforce a bed time if I know either one of them has events/activities the next day.

Yeah I have a hard time sleeping until I know my kids are in bed. 1 am I shut things down. My son sleeps in his bed and his best friend sleeps in our guest room. He doesn’t usually have other kids sleep over.

Yes, but I don't announce the bedtime. Usually they have something planned for a sleep over like watching a specific movie or going to an event at school or going somewhere all together the next day. The sleepover after an event or before a full day are easy. They are exhausted and just crash after an event and they all agree on a bedtime if they are getting up and going somewhere the next day.

If they are planning a night in, they have dinner and dessert. At some point during dinner and dessert, I ask who needs pillows and blankets and then we produce a ton of them. I swear they see the blankets and the pillows and start talking about how they are going to fall asleep in the middle of the movie or the show.

After dinner, they change into their pajamas. I send them downstairs to start their movie with popcorn and snacks. They dive under the blankets and they generally watch their movie and fall asleep pretty quickly afterward. They are rarely up past midnight.

Teenagers do not need to be having any sleepovers, it just leads to trouble. You may or may not know about the trouble, but it is def happening.

haha, no. Teens are not that easy. And anyway, the whole point of a teen sleepover is staying up most of the night watching movies, eating junk food and chatting into the night. But, I do enforce bedtime on school nights (I confiscate electronics). Otherwise, on the weekends, if they have a sleepover, they can stay up until whenever if they have a friend over.
