Wooden floors can be very slippery and dangerous.
We have wooden floors and carpets. All shoes come off at the door. The hard floors are very cold this time of year so it's slippers for the family. Visitors bring their own to wear. We usually don't have socks on in the house but wear slippers.
I've been homes with polished wooden floors that were deadly in socks. We just take shoes and socks off when warm enough but when cold we put slippers on.
