Please don't feel left out, as this is a policy issue. Also an issue around co-employment. You aren't a perm employee, therefore, they should not be inviting you to the Holiday party. You should not take this personal. It's good to see companies being smart and mitigating risk.


And remember, you are continuing to work for the organization, therefore, be the professional you have always been, and don't let your emotions get in the way.

Hopefully, next year you will join the party, as one of their employees.

This is exactly what happened to me. I was not a temp, though, just a very new employee. My feelings were hurt, but then someone mentioned not seeing me there and I said I wasn't invited. She then showed email invite and the group list had not been updated with my contact. I know how you feel Op. Sorry.

OP, I don't blame you for feeling left out, but look on the bright side. You don't have to go to a lame company holiday party! Wouldn't you rather go somewhere and do something fun with real friends instead?

I work for a Fortune 500 company. We have a blanket policy that temps and contractors cannot be included in company sponsored holiday parties, lunches,etc.

At our organization, a large association, temps are never invited. It's policy and a shame for long term temps but it is what it is.
