As already stated, teachers have emergency plans ready, but most will email up-to-date relevant plans to the office, team lead or other colleague who will deliver them to the sub. Information like rosters and the like are in the sub folder.

I'm the sub who posted upthread. Yes, THANK YOU for leaving detailed plans whenever possible! It makes everything go much more smoothly. I don't understand the subs who disregard the plans and decide to do their own thing for an entire day. That sounds stressful for everyone involved.

Serious question for the people who complain about subs who don't follow directions and waste an entire day: Do you report these employees to the Sub Office and/or request a "Do Not Send" on that person? I was told more than three complaints (fewer if it's something really serious) will get a sub terminated.

I seriously can’t understand when teachers in my building do this. If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t spread your germs all over the door handles, copier, computer etc. It’s one day. These are usually the teachers who are so busy acting like a martyr that they don’t stop to think that this is actually selfish of them to do.

The plans have to be replenished so we always have 3 days of plans available.
