OP, just decline. You aren't going to be happy with more than just the hotel choice since they have lower budgets than you. Take your friend on a weekend getaway that you pay for a few weeks later.

OP, get out of your bubble and live a little-meet new people, stay at a different type of hotel.

For a lot of people, even the 200-300 per night is a lot of money. Just get your own room, OP. I would not agree to share a bed either, that's for sure. Nor would I share a room (and a single bathroom!) with more than one person.

Where the hell are you spending $1K/night? That's what you spend when you stay at a 5-star all-inclusive in the Maldives. That is not a "girls weekend" location.

+1! If you had said $50 I would have agreed with you, but seriously. I rarely book hotels in that range for myself. Treating them like poors because that’s their budget is ridiculous.

"All my friends like $1k/night hotels! I couldn't be comfortable in a $300/night slum like I stayed at in college!"

You are the reason Trump won, OP. SMH

But I'm 31 and go on several fancy girls trips a year for bachelorette parties. They're super fun and we love getting ready together.

That used to be me when I was in my 20s. I got married at 30 and had a baby at 31. All my friends like nicer hotels so our bachelorette and gf getaways are at nice hotels.

I have one friend who struggles financially. I always pay and she says I spoil her. She especially likes the fancy hotels because she rarely vacations.

To me that would be worse. I would rather have my own room, or share with one other in a $300 night hotel than cram 4 or more to a room in a $1K hotel,

How many people are we talking about and what city are you going to? Maybe we can help you think og a way to stay somewhere nice without breaking the bank.

I think it's totally fine to book your own room while others share to save money-I've often gone on trips with that setup as the lower budget person.

1. Don't go on this trip. Take your friend on a splurge trip separately.

2. Ask what people are willing to pay (max), and then offer to book at a place where you can supplement. Tell them you're using points or found some great deal.

3. Choose two hotels in close proximity. A nice hotel next to a crappier hotel. Say people are welcome to book in either hotel, and you'll all meet up for excursions.

Honestly though, if you're having trouble with accommodations it sounds like this trip is going to be a pain all around. I hate girls trips.

It is hard enough to coordinate with friends. Half these people I have never met. I think I am just going to decline.

They want to share rooms and beds. I did that when I was in college only. There will be 5-8 girls going. They are assuming 3-4 ppl per room. At bare minimum, I would want my own bed. I’m 40, not 20.

The more I type, the more I am leaning towards not going.

Agreed. I've stayed in some nice places for $200 a night- Plazas, Walfdorf, Ritz, Hotel Monaco. These girls aren't asking for the Holiday Inn.
