I used mine to buy their great insulated travel mugs. I make my coffee at home (it's better than Starbucks) but I use the Starbucks travel mug because it is the best I have found. I also use the money for lunch (this time of year they have the turkey and stuffing sandwiches) or an occasional treat (pumpkin everything!) They also have halfway decent tea. They used to do apple cider...do they still offer that?

Not only this but those of us who work with kids know how dirty their hands usually are (we definitely ask them to wash or sanitize regularly at school!) so it can make us a little queasy when a student brings a gift of homemade food and proudly proclaims that they made it or helped make it themselves!

One of my good friends is a teacher and every year she hosts a terrific holiday party where one of the activities is a white elephant exchange--except we don't bring gifts. Instead, all the gifts are supplied by her and are things from her students and everyone takes home something at the end.

Based on this experience, teachers get too many mugs and coffee accessories/cards, bath and body works things (soap, lotion, etc.), and frames. There's just no way one teacher can use them all if she has a big class.
