21:02 Do you love both your children equally? Do you care for them in the best way that works for them? Falls Church is struggling much more than Madison or Oakton. That is the high school that should be looked at first including its feeder schools before anything else. It doesn't mean that you don't consider the needs of Madison and Oakton, but right now Falls Church has the greater need.

You cannot expect to equalize everything. Do you equalize everything for your own children? You try to balance things--but, if one child is smarter than the other, you cannot make it up by having them switch bedrooms.
This is about so much more than resources in the schools or their fellow students.
If the SB is serious about this, they can start by eliminating AAP.

Sure you do and your logic is no more convincing. The only issue is whether the School Board acts to keep another pyramid from declining because it was expedient to please some wealthier people. If they don't scrap the Jackson-to-Thoreau plan, they are a bunch of hypocrites and One Fairfax means nothing.
If Thoreau has space and Jackson does not it makes sense to move students to Thoreau. One Fairfax or not One Fairfax is irrelevant since you have blocks of students who can attend school at an undercapacity site. Do what is most cost effective unless of course you care to pay for it.
Proximity to schools is the important criteria so residing west of Jackson-off to Thoreau. Removing the fed ded for local taxes makes one more keenly aware of where their money is going.
There are other schools besides Jackson and Thoreau that ought to be part of this discussion. Driving up poverty rates within the Falls Church pyramid will hurt FCPS and the county, and could have long-term revenue implications as well. This should not go forward without exploring other options.
