Ill-fitting clothing is low class. If you are curvy and wear clothes that don't fit (which very well may be the case because of how clothing retailers cater to the "thin" ideal), you may appear low class. It sucks. Designers (mass-market to luxury) have a long way to go in making tailored clothing in quality fabrics for women of all sizes.

I agree that it's partly because white women tend to be less curvy than WOC, but I think it's also partly because we sexualize curves and we (society) tend to hold persons we sexualize/objectify in lower regard. So your image of a wealthy woman may be a sexless social x-ray in a tweed suit and low-heeled pumps, whereas your image of a curvy woman is likely to be dressed more revealingly.

There's a reason so many women strive to be as skinny as they can be and that's because clothes generally look better on thin women.

First, I think only OP you think the red head looks lower class. Second, one is wearing a freaking ball gown and the other is not wearing a jacket with pants.
