IDK what this crazy person is on about. I had different fresh seafood every day. Omg and the grilled octopus??!! So amazing. And flaming cheese.

I'm sorry but flying all the way to Greece for only a week - especially if you want to get off the mainland - is ridiculous. You eat up a day on both ends for travelling, plus more to get to islands.

OP, we took our five year old and went to Greece for 10 days over Christmas in 2015. Granted, we are Greek and have family there, but we stayed on the mainland in hotels. We planned to go to an island but never made it. It was WONDERFUL. It was DD's first trip overseas and she was amazing, but she's not a high maintenance kid (laid back, eats anything, friendly personality, etc.)

We got lucky with the weather. It was in the 60s and sunny every single day. We never wore anything heavier than windbreakers. That is typically their rainy season. Even the Greeks kept telling us how unusual that weather is. The hotels are wonderful and the culture is fantastic. Don't listen to the others who are saying it's a dump. It may not be for everyone, but do the research. Greece is a wonderful place to visit. And the food?? God, I still dream about some of the food I had there. You will want to go back.

It is a long trip though and might be tough with three kids for just a week. Spring/summer is the best time to visit Greece. Depends on your budget, where you're staying and what you want to do. If you want to ski, Greece is a terrific winter destination.

I loved Greece, but it does not seem like a winter destination. Unless maybe you want a winter ski vacation and go to the mountains like Delphi.

Greece in winter for a week sounds not fun. So Cal will at least be a bit warmer.

The best time to go to Greece is in the late spring. It can be cold in the winter and not worth traveling all that way.

Wow..spoken like an "ugly American". I'm guessing you've never been there. It is a wonder to go and see places that have existed for thousands of years. Guessing you voted for Fatty Orange?
