There’s no question that I need wipes and my kid’s teacher needs wipes. But you send those in regularly. The gift should be something to show your appreciation.

I love to travel. I taught 3 siblings in a row. Mom always ferreted out where I was heading for Spring Break and made me a themed basket including a guidebook. It was so unique and thoughtful.

One year I got a small laminated booklet. Each student had dictated something that they liked about me and drew a picture. So cute. I still have it.

Foam soap from Bath & Body Works (Moonlight Path smells wonderful) or a citrus scent

Soda or diet soda if she drinks that

As a former teacher and room parent, however, I wouldn't give anything UNLESS I first sent out a survey or asked the room parent to find out from her what she likes. For example:

Do you like anything from Bath & Body Works and, if so, what scents, items?

Do you drink coffee, tea, soda and, if so, what brands/flavors?

What is your favorite online place to shop and favorite bricks and mortar store?

What is your favorite to-go restaurant and favorite sit down restaurant?

Where do you grocery shop?

What fruit(s) do you like?

That should give you enough to figure out what to get.

OP here.. yeah.. I agree.. I just have issue with handing an envelope with a gift card in it. Just a mental hump to get over..

A gift card is preferable. Many teachers throw "stuff" away in the garbage. So, unless you personally know the teacher on a deep level I will not get her lotion, candles, etc. Also, some people are allergic to certain lotions. Some schools have a personal teacher's wish list or a teacher's classroom list. If not, then I will not go through the trouble of wasting your money on things that will probably be trashed. Trust me on this one a gift card, classroom supplies, or a just kind note will be better appreciated.
