$250 a year seems a bargain to me.

Every building is not required to have restrooms for the outside public to use! Start a campaign for the city to put public bathrooms around, but don't get mad at private institutions for being PRIVATE!
And for the record, I am very, very liberal. I think that US cities should have publicly maintained restrooms like many European cities. The self cleaning ones are fantastic!

I used GWU's main library to study during summers home and it seemed like they allow people unaffiliated with the university in there to loiter. But that was about 10 years ago.

I don't understand the gripe. It's a law library. The resources are specific and costly, not to mention that it's filled with law students studying. This isn't a general public library.

It's a private institution, you're not entitled to use their library. Go to UDC's law library if you want free access. George Mason's law school is in Ballston, right on the Orange line too.

I'm sorry but that doesn't seem unreasonable to me. It's a private library with vast holdings. The law librarians are highly trained. I mean, if you want general books go to the free public library.
