I think that it would be more productive for the OP to find somebody else to run for the District 1 seat against Judy Docca, or to run for the seat themself. But that would be work, whereas typing something up anonymously on an Internet message board is easy.

I am nor a fan of Dr. Docca, but she was calling herself, not use the R word on any student. Should the PC police publish a list of forbidden words so no one should ever to use them in public? Or remove them from all dictionary?
By the way, it looks like she will serve another term until her 80s.

This is not drivel and it seems that you are very sheltered. I want people to stop calling students with disabilities "retards". If people want to call each other 'retard' or name a pudding 'retard', that is less offensive. What is offensive is calling a person with disability a "retard". You have not seen that happen?

Go to minute 2:51 where Jack Smith starts talking about how the student school board member is compassionate and empathetic and 'knows what is funny and what is not funny' and says that that is 'not age bound, but person bound - it's something that is inside of you'. Very fitting.
Must have been many previous 'not funny' moments to cringe at I would suspect.

Judy Docca last week filed paperwork seeking re-election for a fourth term on the Montgomery County school board.

The retired Montgomery County Public Schools principal said she’s been conflicted about running again, but ultimately decided she wanted to serve one last term.

In recent years, Docca has seen progress in addressing opportunity gaps between students and in other areas of importance to her, and she said she wants to keep the school system heading in that direction.

“I really think we have a chance to make some complete changes,” she said Tuesday in a phone interview.

Funding shortages will continue to strain MCPS as the school system grows and evolves, said Docca, the board’s vice president. Board members must also focus resources on meeting the needs of special education students and English language learners, Docca said.
