You should continue to vote to ensure the world of privilege in which you live.

Most people I know voted for the first time from college by absentee ballot.

I like the idea. Every election my Dad would bring back a Starbucks for everyone and then we went our ways (to work or school etc)

Eating all those cheeseburgers could naturally lead to a breakup, TOL.

Every celebration doesn't have to be seen as a reward. Is a birthday party a reward for surviving another year? (Well, okay, sometimes.)

Spoken like someone who has never had an 18-year-old son.

I think it's nice. And it's a good way to encourage voting and hopefully have it be a life long habit. More 18-22 year olds need to vote.

Perhaps when the liberals finally have their coup, you can outlaw Chipotle. Until then #stfu.

+1

The best reward is the "I voted" sticker.

Yes, because nothing says virtue signaling better than an I voted sticker.

Life is all about creating milestones. It would be very thoughtful of you to have some small celebration. When a woman in my office voted for the first time after gaining her hard won citizenship, we had a potluck lunch for her and gave her a frame for her citizenship certificate.

I like the flower idea, pp!

I don't think this is a tradition to most people, but I think it is a nice thing to celebrate the milestone.

I voted absentee by mail in my first election. It felt so anti-climactic. No levers or buttons or booths. Such a bummer.

I would love to do something nice for my girls when they vote for the first time. 7 more years for #1. They love coming to vote with me. I love to include them. #1 is already counting down to when she can vote.
