The other cool thing about FWSA is that you can 'enlist' as a floating sub for at least one season (or maybe one year) and you can play for any team that suits your schedule. Every week, they put out calls for subs.

This is the PP inquiring - I'll check out FWSA. I'm in my early 40s, so yeah -- low-key is what I'm looking for. If I try to keep up with the younger set I'll just end up with an injury. Thanks for the feedback!

I've really enjoyed FWSA. Much more than I thought I would. I played since I was 6...but now at 45, the low-key league is what I need!! The fields are not that far from Arlington, if that is where you live. Google Woodson High School...off Little River Turnpike...where most games are played.

Arlington tends to trend younger. Played for a while there and liked my team, but each year the team got younger and I'm not as fast as I once was. Check out FWSA - friendly league and has varying levels at each age group.

Not the OP, but also interested in this topic. Anyone know much about the Arlington Women's Soccer League? I don't like to play co-ed and it's been about 10 years since I've played in WAWSL so I'm not exactly "soccer fit". I played for a long time, including high school and low-level DIII but not interested in a super-competitive league.
