I order drip when I am loaded.

Same could be said for most cocktails. I don't put anything in my coffee OR my whisky.

I put whiskey in my coffee

I ask for a golden cup to make sure everyone knows. I also make sure everyone's sees my Swarovski-encrusted Starbucks card.

Lol.

I think drip is $2, espresso drinks are only another dollar or two.

It's when posters like you post observations such as this that I understand why people in other parts of the country give me "that look" when I tell them I'm from DC. You are a snotty elitist and I haven't even met you, but I know this to be true.

I'm wealthy and healthy because I don't drink coffee. I also use the good china and silverware daily.

You people are so weird. Are these income based posts from people that grew up in third world countries ?

Beyond bizarre.

Americano is only about 2 bucks. Try a venti quad shot cappuccino for $6.

Those with $6 ones get Madoff's attention.

Etihad upgraded me to a residence cabin because I showed up at the gate with an impressive espresso-based beverage.

I get drip every once in a while, but I always feel like a schmuck for ordering it. Drip coffee -- even made with quality beans -- costs all of 5 cents and requires zero barista talent or high-end machines.

Why is that then so many places have such a crappy drip.

Because only poor schmucks who don't know any better order it, so they don't really care to make it with care? And it's prob stale from sitting there for hours.

Duh! I didn't think of that. Right on. Being poor probably means they just need a pick up between jobs, anything will do.
