Let's assume this is true. Criminalizing prostitution doesn't help these women, at all. It makes them criminals. It makes them more vulnerable to abuse. I think we have to look at the experience of countries that have done some version of legalizing/decriminalizing it, to see what actually makes sex workers safer.
