Seems to me it's the legal immigrants who are angry with the illegals - and for good reason. I'm all for going after business owners who hire them. Please do!

Exactly.

OP here. That's in the plan!! Trump wants to require employers to use E-verify.

That was in the plan the Dems wrote back in 2013, which was passed by the Senate. Why didn't the House pass it?

Please post a link to that 2013 Democrat plan.
I'd like to read it... ALL of it.

Op is so excited about this thread. I mean you are all over every response in 2 minutes. What's it like being so happy to deport people who are brown? Do you feel powerful or emboldened by having a racist president champion your wildest dreams? Are we gonna get that utopian 1950's apple pie, American paradise again we saw on leave it to beaver, Cletus?

While the proposal in its entirety might seem far-reaching, it's an excellent starting point for negotiations with the D's who want to protect DACA.

I'm sure the libsters will pick apart the points they disagree with (which will be many) and use this to viciously attack Trump voters once again, but....fellow conservatives....don't you believe much of this is just common sense?

"hooray" indeed. You sound quite pleased, almost foaming at the mouth, at using the daca kids as leverage to build a useless, money wasting wall. This administration is inept and will fail at this, but keep writing long winded diatribes if it helps you get out your xenophobic wet dreams.

...OP here, and as expected, out comes a hateful liberal with the tiresome attack of racist.

Ha! I'm not hateful, who keeps pushing that word? It's so tiresome. I'm angry that you trump dunces now agree to pay for a wall Mexico was supposed to pat for. You people are such desperate idiots.

OP here, and I realize that was just the summary, I've been looking for the actual list of points but thus far haven't found them. (I'd like to see them delineated, as well, as I'm sure that even I would disagree with a few.) I'll look again a little later this morning.

I don't know. Maybe the legislation was weighted down with pork. That often happens.

Tell me where to report my neighbor who isn't paying taxes on her cleaning lady. NoVa.

Is the person hired by the hour once per week? When I hire a housekeeping or landscaping company to mow my yard once per week, I cut a check and THEY have to declare the income on THEIR company taxes. I can't DEDUCT the cost of cleaning or landscaping on MY taxes unless I'm renting the home out as a business.

I'm confused by your statement.

Exactly. They are independent contractors, responsible for their own taxes. We are not required to pay SS on behalf of these people....they do it themselves (or are supposed to).

Either you're lying, or you don't know what you're talking about. Which is it?

Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean I am a liar, and just because you don't know the law doesn't mean I don't know what I am talking about. The cleaning lady to report all self-emoloyment income, unless she doesn't reach the very low threshold of $400 a year. That's the law.

Don't be ridiculous. I said it's a "cleaning lady", NOT a company. So she doesn't have independent contractor status, but nice try.

OP. You don't have to be a bonafide "company" to have independent comtractor status. I took a year off from a corporate gig and did a little freelancing, earning about $20,000 that year. I had to file a Schedule C and a self-employment form, and pay SS on the earnings.

OP here. Yeah, you're right - the current ones abusing the system will be tougher, from both the illegal herself as well as the employer exploiting her. But at least let's turn off the spigot.

(I have a cleaning lady. She is a U.S. citizen, so I'm not a hypocrite.)

If you have an individual person, the threshold is $2000/year:

Any individual whom you employ to provide services in your home whom you pay directly AND whose total payments in the calendar year meets the IRS household employment threshold ($2000 currently) must receive a W-2 from the employer (family) and the household employer must pay the payroll taxes. According to the U.S. Department of Labor employee and independent contractor advise, “most workers [who are classified as independent contractors] are employees under the FLSA’s broad definitions.”

Thanks, but where exactly is this entire text from?

OP again. Yes, I am aware of that. She comes once a month, and she charges $100. I give her another $100 at Christmas time, so total is way under $2000.
