Happily married here to a handsome, kind, PhD holding, well employed, funny, and family oriented man I met just shy of turning 32. When I excitedly told a "close friend" about him when we first began our relationship, her first question was "why is he still single?" Thank you, smugly married in the nick of time at 29 "friend".

Maybe I'm an aberration, but I dated my now DH at 30, married at 32. But then, he is six years older than me, so he was more mature than 20 something year old men.

I think it depends on where you live. Here in D.C., that's horseshit. But, it's also true that your pool of available men who aren't also "damaged goods" is also going to shrink. At 35 you are going to be most attractive to men in their 40s, who will either be divorced or have ... damaged reasons for being available. Because most marriage-minded men are partnered up well before 40.
