Nope and No.

I do care. I want to be seen as attractive and in shape. I know I'm not gorgeous. But ... not just a frumpy mom, either.

I take back my original answer that I don't care. I do love it when my current partner says I am beautiful, gorgeous, and sexy. He says he loves making me feel good, and he does.

Me, too, but I don't need to be beautiful to "everyone".

I think there is a huge discrepancy in what people deem beautiful or attractive as evidence by the commentary of models and celebrities on these boards.

Sure I care, but not that much.

I loved it when I was effortlessly attractive and got attention for it. I've never been particularly good at making myself more attractive than I naturally am through makeup, expert hair styling, fashion, etc.

Not really.

I look a lot better with make up on but I can hardly ever be bothered to put it on. I hate the feeling of it on my face, it makes me feel dirty.

Yes, I care about my appearance. Mostly for me (I feel bad when I look frumpy), but also for my husband, and for the public (because my husband likes showing off that he has an attractive wife). My husband puts effort into his appearance as well.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.

I only wish for my partner to find me attractive, even if I'm objectively not. Always been that way.

There are obvious advantages to being found attractive in general, and it's a nice feeling, but if your self-worth hangs on it, you've been too thoroughly brainwashed by our society, and would be better off doing some hard work to deprogram before you get older.

I am far from being obsessed with it but I sure wouldn't be happy if everyone found me unattractive! There are certainly occasions when I want to look great (It takes some work!) but most of the time I just want to look good. This week my husband face timed me, something he rarely does, and I looked like hell!

I guess I'm shallow. Yes, I like looking nice. I don't need everyone to think I'm gorgeous, and it doesn't affect my self-worth to have a sloppy day. But given the choice? I'd like to for people to think that I look in shape, put together, maybe a bit fashionable, and (god forbid) pretty.
