I did. We started dating sophomore year of high school. Went to different colleges. Got married a few years after college. I didn't feel like I needed to date anyone else. He was the one for me. We're very happy.

A situation I am familiar with happened about 10 years ago. A woman, who was about 25 or 26 at the time, married the only guy she ever dated. They met in college. She's also never really had one close friend, just some acquaintances- much less a boyfriend. This guy is such a nightmare. Huge temper, volatile, manipulative, and narcissistic- manged to remove her from all her family and friends gradually over the 8 years. Controlling and crazy, he monitors her every move, and even is tries to manipulate where she works because he wants to work with her by getting a job at ther place of employment. Eventually, everyone they associate with becomes an arch enemy, unless they are swept into some common enemy situation with them. The family is basically in mourning in losing their daughter. They have only tangential exposure.

Daughter thinks this is NORMAL. It is important to understand what a relationship is, who you are as a person, what values are important to you, and what you want and need in a mate. This poor girl will live like this for probably years, maybe forever.

I married my second serious boyfriend. I had one in middle school, one in high school that overlapped into college, and one in college who I married after graduating from grad school.

I married my first serious boyfriend. We started dating in 10th grade. We were 15. We got married our senior years of college. About to celebrate 30 years of marriage. He is my world. It’s almost hard to remember a time he wasn’t part of my life. We both turn 50 this year. We have five children and two grandchildren. Life is good.

I dated tons. My first real boyfriend wanted to marry me, but I said no, and while he probably is a great dad, husband, and provider (I have no idea -- I should go look him up) I do not regret it, despite the challenges I've had with my subsequent boyfriends and marriage.

My husband was my second boyfriend, I was his first girlfriend. We'll celebrate 10 years of marriage in a few months. I have never believed in someone being "perfect" for me. I wanted someone who was hard working, dependable, kind, and matched up with a few core beliefs. He did (and does!) We met at 19/20, dated a couple years, and got married immediately after college graduation.

A girl I graduated high school with in 2006 married her first boyfriend. They were together from 7th grade and all through high school and into college. They got married at 25 and had their first baby a year later. She just delivered their second baby 12 weeks early a month ago and just sadly announced that he passed away.
