Not a troll. Not poor. I have to go there anyway. It takes 5 minutes to get my $20 back. Retailers who stand behind their product receive a lot of customer loyalty. I knew this would turn into a debate - don't care. Got my answer.

If you paid $20 for mums they were destined to die

Ignore the naysayers, OP. I returned a lavender plant to Costco that died after a week, the cashier didn't bat an eye. I spend a shit ton of money at Costco as I assume you do if you're there as frequently as you say, I don't feel bad about returning things.

they are planted in full sun in the ground. anything in a pot would have dried up to a crisp last week without daily soakings. We are dry as a bone. Tons of dead leaves on the ground from the trees.

Yes, I did. I thought problem might be the partial shade but I quickly moved them to full sun and it didn't help. Never had a problem before this year.

OMG you don't have much sense. They are hard to kill, but yes, they do better with lots of water and SHADE. Try planting them with some compost or fetilizier and they might come back.

Funny. Mums.org says full sun.

Mine are out in sun and huge. You just have to water them when you first get them.
You are incompetent at mum care, OP.

Maybe but that's why I shop at Costco! Sorry it made your panties bunch up ladies!

They're coming for you, OP..... killer!!

Omg, mums.org.. of course.

Do you people plant them? Because if you plant them they come back next year.
You don't even have to keep buying them if you plant them. Amaze balls !!!

Just break up the roots some before planting (because they'be grown into the pot) and water them a lot initially until the roots are established.

OP you know the rest of your plants are going to start dying too if you don't water them, right?

They do - but you've really messed up if you killed mums. It hasn't rained and it sound like you didn't water the poor things.
