Republicans would still find a way to ruin it for everyone. It's pretty much their sole area of expertise.

Money decides who gets the support in the primaries. Just ask Bernie. Trump also out raised all the other R candidates.

This is one of the reasons why politicians are afraid to go against the party, because they know they would not get the financial backing of the political party for the next election.
