Your DD sounds adorable! I think she does believe. Some kids are happy spirits and even though they kinda know things are not true, they like the connection of believing. Like she has her own private connection with the tooth fairy. So cute.

My 5th grader is a believer still in the tooth fairy, santa, etc. But, she's def skeptical. If she asked me straight up, I'd tell her. But, I see no reason to spoil the fun. I never asked my parents, even after I caught on.

I have a nearly 11 year old who still acts as if he believes in the tooth fairy and santa. I'll play as long as he wants too. It's not like he gets $50 bills for teeth. Childhood is so short. Why shut it down?

I don't think she's scamming you, OP. My son (same age/grade) also believes. And it's not about the money because he's not into getting money (he gives it to us when he receives it). I'm surprised too and am just worried he'll be embarrassed at school when he talks about it (and Santa, which he also believes in still).
