Of course she knows there's no tooth fairy, but she saw it as her last chance to get money for teeth.
My kids know there's no Easter bunny, but they still like getting baskets filled with candy. They know there's no Santa, but they still like waking up on Christmas morning and seeing what surprise gifts were left unwrapped under the tree by 'Santa.'
