I don't agree with your logic. For most people, $300 is a lot of money and, your monthly cost per month does not help the argument. The new iphone is almost $50 per month -- that's what I see.

You do realize that you ultimately paid more for the phone when it was "subsidized" through your monthly bill, correct? The companies had to delink the phone from the monthly service to compete with T-mobile.

Nope, won't be buying the phone. It's too expensive. I'll be using my current iPhone until it finally grinds to a halt. When I buy a new one it will be an older version where the price point has dropped.
I don't think people are going to be open to dropping this kind of money every 2 years even if they use their phone multiple times an hour.

Same. I hardly use my phone.
I only use my phone when out. I text and talk on my phone via my computer or iPad. I hate big phones and a small phone is annoying to browse on.

No thanks. I'd worry about losing it or breaking it. We'll just keep ours till close to them dying and upgrade to an older model. We would still have our 5's if Virgin Mobile did not have a years worth of service basically free if you buy the phone.
