Aww, that's cute, you think they'd use them. I can't tell you how many times I've driven through DC where there's a beautiful bike lane, a car lane, and a parking lane and a biker or two biking in car lane, happily letting people pass around him and nearly get into accidents.


If you can't safely pass a bicyclist then maybe you should give up your drivers license.

There are many legitimate reasons to be out of the bike lane, including: passing slower bicyclists, cats parked in the bike lane (ahem), dangerous debris in the bike lane, and shifting left to make a left turn.

Also, it's a general lane, not a car lane. Car only Lanes are the highways. You don't see bikes on there.

Because some bike lanes can be quite unsafe, unfortunately. Governments stick them anywhere just to look good.

My husband's commute by bike is 10 minutes, partly on a trail.
By car it would be double or triple that, due to traffic jams.
I AM concerned about his safety, because of jerks like you.
Stop thinking cars are daily necessities. In the future, you might not have one.

They ARE NOT commuting to work. They are in biker gear and not carrying anything else but water on them. They are kicking it in my lane and its annoying.


Actually, if they are in the lane, and you come up behind them, this it is really their lane. If you want to go around them, then do it safely, but it is their lane if they were there first.

For a lot of people, it is the best option. Maybe they don't own a car, or they are a 1 car family. Maybe the bus in their neighborhood isn't reliable, or maybe they like saving the aggregate time of riding to work and not having to go to a gym to work out. Whatever it is, you are in incredibly selfish and myopic person. Since when is operating a car a god given right?

Sometimes we bring clothes in a previous day so that we don't need to carry anything on the bike.

Cycling is healthier than driving. Not only that, it is much much better for the environment. Oh, and it reduces pollution. And finally, it is much nicer - you arrive at work in a good mood rather than stressed!

Not if you were paying proper attention to cyclists! We should encourage all activities that curb pollution.
You car contributes to climate change. Are you happy with that, considering what people have lost this month alone? Lives, livelihoods, all they had. Mud slides that killed a thousand people in India. Wildfires that destroyed huge swathes of CO2 neutralizing forest, in Greenland, Europe, and the Americas.

Stop thinking of your own comfort long enough to think of the big picture here.

Also, don't get sedentary because you can get fat and die. Also, don't work out before or after work when you should be spending time with your kids. Which leaves a very convenient time to get a workout on the way to/from work...
