Also, when you make yourself use up a product, particularly those you didn't care for, it helps make you a more careful shopper next time. Less mindless spending.

My husband tortures us over these little things (and other things besides, such as water usage, keeping only one light on in the room you're in, doing things this way not that way, etc). It goes beyond thriftiness into territory I don't even have a word for. OCD, maybe? Control-freakiness, definitely, but not enough.

This may have been from my wife and I agree. These are the kind of behaviors that are OK for yourself. Don't impose them on others.

My husband likes a certain pump bottle for his shampoo and conditioner. I will often take the dregs of other shampoos and conditioners that are running out or ones from hotels and just squeeze them into his preferred bottle. He doesn't have the hassle of doing it and it is still done.

Plus the more use you get out of a product, the easier it is on the earth. Less waste and a win win situation. How about you OP?

+2
I also do all these things and other things too that dh rolls his eyes at.
I was raised by parents who grew up as war refugees and they instilled in me and my siblings that nothing is wasted.
