I agree tony got a lot of resistance and criticism and today I am not sure people recognize that he started the process of making dc attractive again. To walk downtown and see how vibrant it is. Thats his legacy. He took it from a federal ghost town after 5pm and weekends to a destination. Thank you Tony. And he did it all with grace. We need someone with his style. Humble but committed.

I hope Tony feels better. I would vote for him for president. He righted this city and did so with such nerdy grace and charm. Honestly one of the few politicians I have ever truly and deeply respected.

And no one ever gives him the credit he deserves. The white new arrivals didn't know about him, and long time black residents liked Marion Barry, not Williams. Totally unfair to his legacy

Why should someone be held accountable for the choices their parents made 20 years ago. He ran on a platform of supporting DCPS and probably intends to send his offspring to DCPS.


Well if a politician runs on a platform then I am sure he must agree with it. No politician has ever said something on the campaign trail that he didn't believe in. Why are you so sure he will send his kids to DCPS? I know many people who grew up in DC and went to private schools who have no intention of sending thier kids to DCPS.
