I'm the FCPS parent who did have a positive experience with the IEP program. Things have changed in the last 18 months and I think a lot of it is due to budgets.

If you have the money, you might want to consider getting your son some personal tutoring to supplement what is going on in school.

There are many parents in this school system with high-school kids. THey rightly started the fight and I feel compelled to carry that torch but why, oh why is it taking DECADES?

Sorry ladies and gentlemen I"m pissed now; 6 months after dx and school doing almost nothing.


Why? Because it is expensive and hard. And it takes a few years for most parents to figure out how to fight, and win. By then their kids have largely aged out of school, and the new families are starting the same learning curve.
