They're quite good about timelines and process now. They lost way too many court cases simply on technicalities in the past.
It's not clear from OP's message that her child has an IEP now. Coming from the eastern shore I would imagine it's quite possible they don't (I used to live there; it's beautiful but a few decades behind in lots of ways).
