I do think you need to think about what is really bothering you- there is a lot tangled up here. You want to figure out exactly what is bothering you and address that - and only that.

Is it the friend? The friend sounds awful, so that might be worth pursuing. DH, you don't even seem to like this friend much and he seems like bad news. I get seeing friends and want you to spend time with your friends, but it hurt a little when you dropped everything for him. Can you tell me what you were thinking?

Word of advice, stop trying to pick your husband's friends. He will resent you for this one day, just stop. You either trust your husband or your don't, that is the real problem here, not his friend.
