Does the Madlax owner coach? He used to be heavily involved with the Orange and National teams; I think now his is coaching one of the elementary school teams.
He coaches his twin boys' team - I think its 2024.

Coaches the class of 21 team for VA Metro. I think a lot of those girls split away from Cardinal, which is how the club got started. Used to help run VLC before they were bought out by the Crabs several years ago. Knows lacrosse and is a good teacher of individual and team skills.

I'm surprised to hear this. We haven't seen anything that remotely looks like misogyny, but my kid is still in elementary school. We like the guy's focus on teaching the fundamentals of the sport early on.
Ditto. DD is in middle school and we haven't heard anything remotely like this. In my experience, when there are issues they have more to do with parents wanting to vent to him about a coach or coaching decisions, and club policy requires them (or their daughter) to reach out directly to the coach and try to work things out. I think many clubs have a policy like this, including Skywalkers and other Baltimore area teams (heard parental discussion of this at a Baltimore lax clinic over the summer).

Not np but have had plenty experience with madlax. Op, stay away. He cares about the fees and that's it. Hires a bunch of fiormer players to coach and your kid is just a number. Do a little searching and you'll find an alternative even if it's a winter indoor program at this point (Univ of md has these) and get your ducks in a row for spring tryouts. Good luck.

I second the suggestion for Next Level. Also, in MD try Bethesda Select or Rebels. In VA try Cardinals and maybe even Pride for the B team. Call and see if they are willing to do a practice try out (your daughter attends a practice as her try out). All of these are better clubs with better grown-ups involved than Madlax.
Yes, Google Cabel Maddux and read the lovely email he sent a young man trying to leave one of his programs. That is the one that got published, there are many more. Would t let me kid near his program. Bethesda is pretty solid and is worhh an email.
