My guess is there are more happy marriages where someone cheats than with honest open marriages. Cheating is common and usually not discovered, so why not a don't ask don't tell?

Most of the women slinging mud at you have husbands that cheat on them.

There is always a chance this could fail but given that half of,marriages fail and many more that succeed involve cheating, monogamy doesn't work either.

It is not a biblical objection but a moral one. I teach my son to be honest, have integrity, not to steal, respect people, etc.

Google it and you will find 92 percent of open marriages end in divorce. If you are not giving him sex he will develop an emotional attachment to one of the women that do.

If you're happy with it and he is then why not? There are tons of downsides that others have mentioned but if you're ok with them then go ahead. Personally the need for an open marriage simply reflects a failure or a breakdown in a relationship. You want a roommate and he wants a bunch of 'roommates'. Good luck. Op, I could have written this post. I've thought about it, I wouldn't mind if he did so. But I'm afraid I might find someone more fun or whatever and want to divorce, or get too caught up with the guy, making it harder and harder to hide it from our two kids as they grow. Or that my DH would develop feelings for someone. I think I will end up jealous. I frankly don't think I'd mind if he had sx with others. It's unfair to him I am so low drive. But I don't want to open a Pandora box and have him fall for someone emotionally.

OP, how old are you and your husband and how long have you been married? How often have you been having sex and what's been the trajectory of decline? Regardless, it's highly unlikely this will end well. Sex is how many men feel connected, so if he's getting sex from other people, its probable he'll eventually fall for one of them, especially if there's no competing sex from you.
