You need to rat this woman out immediately to her mother. Do not delay.

Also report back to us to let us know how the conversation went.

It's really important that you tell her mother. Smoking is a gateway to other things like back tattoos and binge drinking

Next time you see the daughter, say loudly, "Damn! It smells like an ashtray in here!".

MYOB!!!! Smoking is legal, and she's an adult.

Would you call her mom if you saw her eating a cheeseburger? But she's clogging her arteries? Doesn't her mom need to stage a nutritional intervention?

OP, move on to something more important in life.

For F's sake, I clicked into here expecting the co-worker's daughter to be in the ball park 13-17. She's a grown 22-year old and may be doing all kinds of adult-only stuff and it's her own business.

Please, do tell her mother. And then, report back as to a) how she reacts, and b) the dynamic of your relationship moving forward.

Seriously OP? I came into this thread expecting to see that you saw a 15 year old smoking with friends outside of the mall.

Also, why do you think Mom doesn't already know? So you really think she is going to tell you about her daughter's shameful smoking habit?

If Mom has ever been in the car, she knows.

She is an adult and smoking is not illegal for adults. If she was 12 then yes I would tell her mom but at 22 you sound crazy.

But you didn't see the adult daughter smoking in her home. You saw her outside of her home.

I'm pretty sure her mother doesn't know. Anytime she comes in the office she doesn't smell like smoke. Her mother has had cancer in the past and I'm sure she wouldn't allow smoking in her home.
