Also all the condos/apartments I have lived in have had community rooms that you can reserve or rent. Perfect for a party!

We have a tiny place ( >900sf) but the kids always have a great time with home birthday parties. We limit it to 10 guests, one or two always seem to flake or cancel last minute, and they have so much fun running around and checking out toys, pets, etc.

Don't rule out your place just because it's an apartment!

Just rent a community center or apartment party room. Some party rooms will have a kitchen you can use.

I agree. We lived in a townhouse and had plenty of parties for around 8 kids. I personally hate organized parties. 20 kids show up. Present thrown in a bin. 30min of bouncing. 30min of cake eating. Good bye. No personalization. Overwhelming.

My kids prefer hosting and going to house parties. They rarely get big play dates or time to do fun things with a close group of friends.

6 kids in an apartment is totally doable.

My family does it for holiday get togethers. No one person can accommodate everyone but there are housed in everyone's city large enough that can. Just tell them what youre doing. Lots of people rent out their homes for extra income as long as they return to it the way they left it. Do it.

Yes that's what I meant. I am also an apartment dweller and have a child. While I generally love it (pool, all maintenance taken care of), I would love to have a larger home party. So I was thinking about the option the OP mentioned.

If you rent one for a party and don't explicitly tell the owner that's what you're doing, there's a very good chance you could have the cops called on you. A lot of neighbors are irritated at Airbnbs in their neighborhood anyway, and they are on the lookout for any reason to call the owner/cops/code enforcement. Lots of cars parking in the neighborhood could very well set them off.

Most Airbnb homes are not party-friendly.

While most Airbnb agreements so No Parties, it doesn't hurt to ask if you can host one. We rented an Airbnb that was a very large house and would be perfect for a large holiday family gathering. It said no parties, but we contacted the owners and explained the nature of the party and how many would be attending, and they agreed to it. They may make you pay a higher security deposit.

You won't be able to do it--at least not without lying. A lot of AirBnB homes have rules about the number of visitors allowed at one time.

Yeah, most people aren't too keen on their house being trashed by a bunch of drunk adults or a bunch of wild kids, so they clearly prohibit parties in the lease terms. If they wanted to open their house up as a party/function venue, they could get a lot more money.

Why not just rent out a venue? This makes no sense for a kids party.
