Back carry is a bit safer. Sometimes a kid just needs to be held by their mom and dinner still needs to be made. As long as she is aware of where babe's legs and feet are I don't see the big deal.

You are NOT a chef! No chef I have ever known would be this careless when it would take one second to hand the baby to the person taking the picture. I have worked closely with chefs for decades and they are all stunningly safety conscious because they have seen multiple burns.

I'm actually a professionally trained chef. I don't do this at work obviously. But home cooking? In a pinch? Sure. Low heat and get the splatter guard

Would you put your child in the car, then two of you go return the cart. No if you have an extra person there, you and the person would divide up each task.

The second person would definitely not take a photo of you returning the cart while baby is in the car alone.

We all do things that others think that are bad.

That baby is 7mo. He should be able to sit at a high chair across the room. Or play with sis for 5 minutes. Babywearing to the extreme.
AND the other person could have worn the baby.

I get that maybe she just hadn't thought of it. Now she knows. Now a lot of people know, so maybe it's a good thing the word got out.

But, Pink, don't act like your life is all hectic when you have someone else there. That's like having an assistant walk around with me while I struggle at the grocery store with kids. And one of them keeps standing up in the cart, and my assistant takes a photo instead of helping hold the child.

There was a scary mommy article or something recently with a baby wearing mom warning others about this. She normally wore her baby while cooking and the one time she wasn't her gas stove malfunctioned and sent a burst of flames from the stove. She got burned but luckily her baby didn't. Just a PSA. I find these things helpful (like the slide warnings - never would have occurred to me). You do you though.

Yes, clearly someone else took the picture, but how do we know that person didn't just walk into the room? When I was on maternity leave, I could see my DH coming home and seeing that scene, taking a picture, and then taking the baby. Sheesh.

Pink made a stupid parenting error - and one that was absolutely unnecessary since the person taking the picture is someone she could have handed the baby to.
