Thanks so much. I realize looking at my post above, which was accidentally included in the quote--sorry about that--also made it sound like she was into field hockey without actually having played it. She has been taking clinics and camps for years, but has never played on a team. Do you know anything about Storm (affiliated with Beyond Sticks)? I just can't fathom having her play for the Wolves. There is no way we're going to College Park for practices and PA most Sundays. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and congratulations to your daughter!

To the poster below, yes, girls do both lax and fh. I know girls recruited to DI for both. My dd was recruited to Ivies for both crew and fh. She chose crew at Princeton. The tryout system is legit at the privates.
Can I ask if this was a recent experience and, if so, did your dd play club field hockey all the way through? My dd is a decent lacrosse player and wants to keep playing club. However, she is really into field hockey too and asked if I thought she'd ever be able to get recruited in college. She's only going into 7th grade, so I realize everything could change by say, October. But, she is very athletic and seems pretty good at field hockey but hust doesn't have time for two travel teams. She will play FH at school this year for the first time. I am just wondering if she's missing an opportunity not playing field hockey for a club team. Do you have any thoughts about your DD's road to field hockey recruitment?

At the private girl high schools, is it a legit tryout system or do clubs feed into them?
