I'm a 2-time PP. Is it possible your mother is recognizing some changes in herself such that she a) cannot take care of kids, and b) does need help with errands, etc? If that is the case, then you (and I, re: previous comments) are mistaken, and you should try to help her transition as smoothly as possible to being more dependent on others (senior taxi, public transport discount, community center...).

OP doesn't have to take care of her mother. Her mother is able to care for herself. "Sandwich generation" does not apply here, unless OP decides she wants to take care of an adult who can take care of herself.

Stop whining and just tell her you're too busy. You can't be at fault when you tell the truth. If she has a problem with it, that's her problem. Just because she's your mother doesn't mean you can't say no.

Did your mother force you to have three children? They are your kids so you take care of them. She does not owe you a single second of free child care. If you do not want to help her then say no.
