I want to think this through and not regret the decision to gender select if given the option. To the poster who said we are playing god, we already are by doing IVF.
YOU are on the fence. Your husband has made his wishes clear. OP, you don't get it.
So what? I'm supposed to go with his wishes just because he said so? If that's the case, I wouldn't even have DD as he also made his wishes clear that if we couldn't have a child naturally, he was okay not doing Ivf. Because he knows how much I want a child and went through with it. Guess what? He's so in love with our little girl now and has absolute no regret going through with it. I'm the kind of person who wants to examine pros and cons of stuff and don't want to make that decision so hastily.
Yes, you do have to respect his wishes here. You both have to agree to it, just like you both have to agree to having the transfer. Sounds like you need to work on your marriage.

Anonymous wrote:IVF is playing god because you are not supposed to have a child but science makes it possible. That's why a lot of religious ppl willl not go through IVF.

not the poster who said "Playig god", but for IVF you don't have a choice. and for sex selection you do. and this creates possibility of regret.

You mean sex. You cannot select gender.
For 99.9 percent of babies it's gender. Transgender people are an extremely small percentage of the population. Stop acting like all babies are born transgender.

IVF gets you a baby. Sex selection lets you choose what kind of baby you get. One is very much playing god compared to the other. I can't actually believe this is legal.
