Commander Salamander! Those were the days. So much manic panic.

The waterfront park is kinda nice with the water feature and the views. And the marina (ice skating in winter). There's some places that a kid won't feel awkward in: the Indian imported fashions store on Wisconsin and O, fun to wander through. There's a sushi place on Wisconsin below M Street that's cheap and good. They can get teriyaki and those sodas where you press the ball to open it, I think the place is called Chopsticks. There's the canal walk, and the Hershey's ice cream place next to the movie theater that is way more refreshing and delicious than the ones up on M Street. Of course there's Georgetown Cupcake (a waste of money IMHO) where they can get a logo T-shirt. There's the music scene at Blue's Alley, I don't know if kids can pop in there, same for Gypsy Sally's. I think there is bowling in the Georgetown Park mall. And of course there are lots of photogenic houses if they're into photography.

There used to be that one shop that sold fake ids in the back. Is it still around?

But Georgetown was cool then. Or, anyway, it was cool when I went, in the mid-1980s. But it isn't cool anymore.

It's still cool for 14 year olds.
