This disturbs me on so many levels. I feel for her, her family and friends. I'm glad the suspect was found and hope the law takes care of the rest.

Not sure. All of this has happened in the last <15 hours, as the assault/abduction was just earlier this morning. So I'm guessing more information will unfold.

There looks to be scratches and marks on the suspect's face in his mugshot. If they are fresh, while obviously tragic, I hope that means she fought back as best she could.

Did anyone in Fairfax get any kind of alert on their phone for this? I know Dranesville is near the LOCO/FFX border, but I get the alerts from LCSO and this thread was the first I heard of it.

Very sad.

The guys came up, the rest of the group ran - thinking she was with them, she fell and was left behind; when they got back to the mosque they realized she wasn't with them. I assume by then she was kidnapped and they called the cops.

I don't think a group of teenagers going to grab a bite to eat after a religious event were looking to "trust" anyone. They were likely looking to hang out with their friends, mind their own business, and grab some french fries before a long day of fasting.

As for pp who said that "something doesn't add up" ... well... when's the last time a man assaulted and killed a stranger, where things DID actually add up? When does it make sense to you know, just attack and kill someone you get in a dispute with? Of course it doesn't add up, because violent and angry scumbags never have a sensible reason.

They were participating in an overnight activity at the mosque. This is not uncommon during Ramadan.
