Elegant is boring and stiff. Just be classy instead. You don't need fancy clothes and a perfect home or appearance to pull it off. You just have to treat people well.

It's actually a guy I know who is hot and elegant in person and his writing is so elegant and gracious but funny and droll that it gave even my dh a boner.

I work with a tall Indian women who seems elegant in the sense that she is quiet but always seems to know what to say and she dresses her body well but modestly. I've only worked with her for a short while so she may start being annoying and less elegant as I get to know her as most people at my job are

She is wealthy now, but didn't start out wealthy. But she has always been elegant.

Perfect posture and manners. A soft smile, always a kind word. Knew how to carry a conversation. Never used foul or vulgar language.

Her home is always impeccable, and she is a gracious host. Fresh flowers. One thing I remember is that she always used real plates and silverware, even for hosting a 50-person garden party - no paper or plastic, ever. Real linens.

An air of quiet confidence. She makes everyone feel welcome, has nothing to prove, and it's clear to everyone who meets her that she is a special person.

My mother was the most elegant person I knew / know.
She wasn't snooty, but I do think there is an air about elegance... I strive to be respectable (with manners) but also kind to people.
