This. Also, try doing the waxing at a nice salon. They are really good at putting people at ease. I know it is a lot more $ but it may pay off just in terms of taking care of the problem quickly. And kids seem to like going to a salon. It makes them feel 'grown up'.
Even the place that I go to for manicures does waxing but for the first time for a 10 year old, I would probably go to a really nice, reputable hair salon.
