There are some non-profit daycares with low child-teacher ratio.

For a one time incident? Wow. That is over kill. I what OP posted is not good because it's happened frequently. But a diaper rash can happen in a near instant from acidic foods.

No. It was NOT the first time. It was the second, and it was not in the infant room but 1s room. Child was not prone to diaper rashes and had never had any diaper rash this bad before or since. The pediatrician agreed that it was due to not being changed after a poop diaper. First time was ridiculous, but the second time, I went ballistic.

Wow-- chill out, lady.

Sometimes diaper rash appears/persists despite real vigilance in changing immediately after poops and frequent application of creams. It's distressing to see your little one with a red and sore bottom.

When my daughter had a bad diaper rash daycare started checking her every 30 minutes and changing the diaper every 1 hour. Things cleared up. Approach this as a medical issue and inform the director. I told the teachers i was going to be discussing this with the director so that they could make sure whoever was in the room during the teacher's break was on the same page.

Thanks everyone for the replies! His butt has healed and I talked to the director. I'm going to be more persistent in making sure he's checked often so this doesn't happen again. I'm also looking into different daycares in case it does since it's happened so much =\
