we have done this trip many times. We leave at 5am and go straight through. There are good pit stops (AKA Starbucks) at the VA Visitor Center (cant remember what town) and Lumberton, NC.

I am immediate PP. Meant to clarify that we don't spend the night in Florence, SC. We get back on the road and head straight to Florida. I think you would have another 2 hrs drive to get to Charleston, but I think driving straight through would be doable (if your DCs can handle it).

My suggestion is kind of boring, but it works for us. We've driven to WDW several times from NoVA. We stop in Florence, SC (about 6 hours from here), and eat at Chick-Fil-A at the Magnolia Mall. We usually head across the development to Barnes & Noble to stretch our legs and browse/pick up new items. There is also a Starbucks in the development. Magnolia Mall is a quick exit off 95, and it has never been too busy (not at all like Tysons Corner). It is pretty nice to stop there (safe and clean), as I detest rest stops along the highway.
