Certificates and crowns were not allowed to go home in my sons class today. Other celebrations scheduled for next week were cancelled

Our wotp school does not have any type of celebration for pk or k.

You guys really need to let up on this principal. what exactly do you think is going to happen? if you drive her out like this who do you think will ever want to take her job?

Did she cancel the certificates, which is a strange thing to care about either way, or the party? Cancelling the party is also odd since the two older grades I know are having half day celebrations.

And yet if this had gone forward there would be all sorts of complaints as to why one teacher had a ceremony with diplomas when others didn't. Or why a school is graduating the entire prek and one k class.

The school has a tradition- k teacher doesn't get to change that.

Thank goodness! There are too many celebrations, informances, parties, etc. at school. Certificates for kindergarten is dumb.

Oh dear lord-- at LES the Pre-K students "graduate" and get diplomas. That is the tradition. The K teacher planning this needs to do her homework.

This is such passive aggressive whining I will play along.

OP, there is a large open space behind LES. It is called the Lafayette Rec Center. You can let the kids run around there after school and have Popsicles to celebrate. Or if that is too unstructured go to the playground and have Popsicles.

Kids want just want Popsicles.
