A bit of a shock, considering he was still rather young at 71. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, but his legacy, aside from LGBT issues is just garbage. It is no coincidence that during his chairmanship of the WMATA board the transit system turned to garbage and that he was ultimately undone for corruption with award WMATA development rights. His corrupt and incompetent tenure overseeing WMATA has probably done more lasting damage to this region and any of the small victories that he has accomplished that anyone can point to.
