Do the work to get it up and running, provide data to support a need, dedicate yourself or others to finding the funding, get it approved by DC Council or Charter School Board - didn't think so! You just want to be an a**![]()
OP are you referencing a specific school with your post? Are you saying there is a dcps charter school for black boys only already or someone is trying to start such a school? If so name the school, post links? Seriously just wanting to know more about this topic.
There is a residential charter school for girls now -- and one for boys has been approved and will open soon.

The one OP was referencing is a DCPS school.
So there was a DC school approved in 2017 that's for blacks only? There are schools open in the city today that limit enrollment to blacks only? Outrageous! What are the names of these schools? This is not OK and I want to write the Post about this!
So y'all don't want too many black kids at your school but they can't have their own school either.
Got it.

I'd be happy to enroll mine in the highest performing automatically unconstitutional school in the city. :Eyeroll:
sssshhhh yea don't tell the constitution about those Mandarin and French imersion charter schools...
Which schools are you referring to which include race as an admission factor?
None use race explicitly. Ron Brown high school is a city wide high school you get into via the lottery. Same for the same sex charters.

That can't be the school. Check out the mission statement.

This is the school OP was referring to. Before it opened as Ron Brown it was being called "Empowering Men of Color" and the ACLU was threatening a lawsuit. That lawsuit was never filed, and th school was named and opened.
Thanks for this background, glad that wasnt the name. Has a non-black boy tried to enroll in this school and was denied?
