Mine will be intern for the day at the office will me. There is no shortage of young helpers at the end of the school year. Management is completely supportive.

CREATE Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring (we are a 5 minute drive from DC). We offer individual day registrations during that week only, and a few spaces are still available for 6/15 and 6/16.

Drop in at the daycare my kid used to attend. Since she turns 7 this year, it's the last time I can use this option though.

HoopEd prorates for partial weeks. CREATE Arts Center in Silver Spring (just north of the DC border) has camp that week with single-day registrations available. Good luck!

Husband goes into work as early as he can drag himself out of bed, I go in as late as possible, and we get a sitter to cover the hours in between. That usually ends up being 4-5 hours so not cheap, but OK for a couple days.

We booked travel abroad for the last day of school. We planned as soon as the calendar was out. That said, otherwise spouse and I would've each taken a day off. If we couldn't, we maybe would have just paid for a whole week and made sure to plan in advance next year.

When we had similar situation either DH or I took those days off. We planned months ahead, as soon as the school calendar was published.

Alternate taking a day off and trading care with a mom friend.
